Few favorite things

The holiday season is upon us. For those who celebrate the holidays it can be a bit daunting figuring out the right gift to give. One thing is for sure, buying local and handmade goods is always the best route to go. There is somewhat of a speckled obsession going on over here. Over the past couple of months via craft fairs and shops we have pick out a few favorite specklely and non-specklely ^_* ceramic objects.

Summerland Ceramics - You are most likely not going to find this stunner called The Land Yaute in this speckled colorway as it was a limited batch on sale at Oakland Surf Club but fear not this beast and others are available via Summerlands website  (Oakland Surf Club too if you are local to the bay). This mind altering vase begs to be displayed as well as experienced.

Process Daily- Is an artist of all sorts. She writes, she cooks and she make amazing and thoughtful ceramics. Here is a little write-up about her.

C`est Bon Clay & Cloth- Detailed and thought provoking objects is what C`est Bon does and she does it very well. From earthy and organic forms to her finishing glazes; her work has the feeling of warmth, love and an obvious west coast vibe. This specked mug is the first of many with hopes to adopt more.

Zena Segre Ceramics- When you first see her ceramics it is hard not to smile. There is such skill yet an obvious playfulness to her work. Her webstore is loaded with curious shapes. You can also find her in Renegade Craft Fairs curated holiday sets. Can not get enough.

The Great Escape Studio- Totally has picked up the spirit of the West Coast Craft revival. Her natural and rustic feeling ceramics are paired with positive triggering motifs and beautiful naturalistic colors. These little dishes are perfect for anywhere in the home.

Uno+Ichi- This pot is the end all "cute" pot. Uno+Ichi have it going on! These two ladies create character ceramic pots/cups to match you. Their evolving and rotating collection of character pots are always a treat to find. Now should it be used as a plater or cup.... you decide.

Mary Tawfall- Is the definition of free spirit. Much of her work is dictated by her own personal interest. Be it beautiful and mystifying ceramic and copper jewelry, intricately painted pottery or a pipe to take you to a higher place. All of Mary`s work is truly an extension of herself and her love of craft.

Francine Marquis-Is a purveyor of miniature ceramic curiosities. Her ceramic miniature homes depicting houses from the bay area are perfect for incense or just a happy reminder to how special the victorian and west coast craftsmans really are. Even the roofs come off! Can not get enough of these little guys.
