This garlic oil is a kitchen must have. It is easy to make and works on so many dishes. The spice along with the addictive crunch will have you putting this condiment on anything needing a savory, spicy garlic crunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of neutral cooking oil( I like grapeseed)

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2 anise pods

  • 1 teaspoon of Sichuan peppercorns

  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

  • ¼ cup of sesame seed oil

  • ½ cup of chili flakes

  • 1 cup of dehydrated garlic chips (see photo and notes)

  • 1 cup of dehydrated onion chips (see photo and notes)

  • ½ tablespoon of mushroom powder ( see photo and notes)

  • ½ tablespoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon of sugar

Directions

  1. heat oil with cinnamon stick, anise pods and peppercorns for 15-20 or until ingredient brown and fragrant. Strain and cool.

  2. Add all of your dry ingredients to a bowl.

  3. Add both of your oils to the bowl and mix.

  4. Transfer to airtight containers or jars
